Fun at the Opera

Sorry it has been so long since the last blog.  We have been quite busy here in the 4th grade.  Your child may have told you we are preparing a play for Black History Month.  We do not have a date set yet, but we will be sure to send home a flyer advertising it when it is set.  The students are doing a great job so far and have put in a lot of hard work.  Recently the Florentine Opera came to our school and did a wonderful job performing about Little Red Riding Hood.  The students loved it!

In Literacy we just finished reading biographies and writing a paper about naming a school after the person we read about.  We have just started researching a state and we will soon be writing a paper about our state and making a travel brochure about it.

In Math we just took our Unit 4 test on tenths and hundredths.  This week we are beginning to work with multiplication of multi-digit numbers.

In Science we have been working with Magnets and will soon move to electricity.  The students are very excited about this unit as they have heard from our Boomerang students how memorable this unit is. (It was their favorite! :))

Finally, in Social Studies we continue to talk about Wisconsin's state symbols when we have a day off from our play.  We will be mainly focusing on our play until we perform it.

Here are some photos from past weeks:
