Christmas!

Wow! It has been a long time since I have posted on here.  We have been so busy getting ready for Winter Break (plus our top secret Snowmen we made).  It is crazy to think that 2012 is coming to an end.  We have had a blast together in 4B in 2012 and I am sure 2013 will bring even better memories.

In Literacy we just finished writing Myths.  They turned out awesome!  Our next unit is Biographies.

In Math we just finished working with multiplication and story problems.  We are working on recalling our multiplication facts within 3 seconds.  I encourage you to practice with your child at home. (0-10)

In Science we just finished our Human Body unit.  We did Human Body projects and they turned out great!

Finally, in Social Studies we are continuing to talk about Wisconsin.  So far we have discussed the State Flag, State Animal, and State Song.  We even got to sing the state song (this class loves to sing!).

You may have noticed that your child is no longer bringing home their Spelling Book.  We have begun a new Spelling program.  I think the students will be more successful with this.  There are three different groups, Yellow, Purple, and Green.   These groups have a different level of difficulty.  Yellow is more basic words, Purple is a bit more difficult, and Green is the most difficult.  The students were put into these groups based on a spelling assessment we did.  If you have any questions about this program please do not hesitate to ask.

Here are a few photos from the past month:

Our quite lengthy Snowman project:

We made a heart wreath to help mend the broken hearts of Sandy Hook Elementary.  We will be sending these pictures along with a letter to them after break.

(We won't be sending this one)

Frightening Fourth Graders!

First, it has been a while since I last posted due to internet issues for the past two weeks.  We had no internet for a week and now we have to use a cable to use internet (no wifi).  Yikes!  Here are photos from the past few weeks (school forest, masquerade, etc.)
